In mid-March, when the Pastoral Staff and Church Board initially made the decision not to have worship services or other programming at our church building, we announced that we would suspend all on-site group gatherings through April 18. We wanted to update that notice to let you know that the decision not to meet together in person will be continuing indefinitely. We will be following the recommended guidelines, and we will resume meeting together when it is deemed safe to do so.
Throughout this time that we cannot meet together in person, the pastoral staff will continue to provide online worship services for our congregation to view each Sunday. Though not ideal, they are giving all of us the blessing of being able to worship as one, including some of our missionaries in other parts of the world and some of those who cannot usually attend our services because of physical limitations or work schedules.
We also will continue to provide opportunities to meet with others virtually. Currently, our children, youth, young adults, and some of our life groups are making good use of our church’s Zoom account. We’ll continue to host a Wednesday evening virtual prayer meeting, and we will also be adding some times for adults to connect with one another more informally – watch for an announcement about that later this week.
We know it is difficult not to be together as we worship the Lord and as we face challenges. Please know that the pastoral staff, the deacons, and so many others are dedicated to praying for all of our church family through this time. Please feel free to contact any of the staff directly if you have specific needs, prayer requests, or praises. We are here for you and available to serve as we can.
Let’s together keep lifting our eyes to the Lord, from whom our help comes, and let’s tune our hearts to keep trusting in him!
