Pastor of Youth & Young Adult Ministries

Brief info

Brie Thompson has been serving as Pastor of Youth and Young Adult Ministries since 2019. Brie and her husband Stephen have 5 children, live in Swatara Township of Harrisburg and have been a part of HBiC since 2006. Stephen's parents, Anne and Charlie Thompson, also now live with them making them a family of 9.

Brie is a native of South Jersey and has her BA in Mathematics and Adolescent Education from Houghton College. Brie plans to complete her Masters in Theology and Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary in December of 2025. Prior to vocational ministry, Brie has been a high school math teacher and also a houseparent at Milton Hershey School. Amidst a string of years where she was able to be a somewhat “stay-at-home parent,” Brie has been able to be a coach, an in-home daycare provider, a relief houseparent, a tutor, an online teacher, a driving instructor and a photographer.

God has always put a passion on Brie’s heart to serve youth and those in underprivileged situations from the times of her own youth. The seeds of that passion began during her childhood living in Salem, NJ. Brie has been able to lead youth in a variety of ways through the years including being a volunteer youth leader at HBiC from 2006-2011 and again beginning in 2016 through 2019 when she took on her full-time role on staff at HBiC.

Brie enjoys spending intentional time with family and friends and also enjoys spending time outdoors. She especially values getting to cook for and care for those she loves!
