Wanda Heise

Brief info

Wanda’s life began as a PK--Preacher’s Kid--of a BIC pastor, so she’s been Brethren In Christ all of her life. She began attending HBIC in 1971, the year she and her husband, Glen, were married, and they’ve been members ever since. Over the years Wanda has served in many different capacities in church life—Sunday School teacher, small group leader, member of church board and secretary, church organist, and first church administrative pastor, to name a few. At a regional and denominational level, she has served on the Atlantic Conference Board of Directors, been the first woman elected to be Atlantic Conference Secretary, and both served on and chaired the General Conference Board.

Wanda and Glen's daughters, Angie and Jen, both live out of the country in service with different organizations. They enjoy the times that they get to visit with them, both here and abroad. Traveling has been enriching. She loves the beach and enjoys her many friends. Her more mundane hobbies include knitting, reading and trying to keep up with the popular music that her granddaughters are listening to. But she still likes the Oldies from the 60’s!
